Black and White Xmas freebie

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are enjoying the lovely late sunshine!
Seems odd to be thinking about Christmas while it's so hot, but, here is a black and white Christmas topper free for you to download. The black 'XMAS' Scrabble tiles are separate so you don't need to use them.
Get the free download from Stampingallday, once there, click the link in the right-hand column to download.

There is also a new Christmas digi kit in black and white. The script, holly and fir papers are all transparent for easy digital layering, and you can get some interesting effects by doing that and recolouring them.

New in for the stamps are QR code stamps. These can be read with a mobile that has the scanner app and can send your blog or website url directly to a mobile. Text messages too, which could be great fun!

Christmas vintage tag topper, free download

Hi Everyone!

I know you are thinking about, or already starting, on your Christmas cards! I have a sweet little topper to help you along. It has a vintage feel with music background and a ready-cut tree on a tag with 'Oh Christmas Tree' curved vintage style text, which is available as a clear stamp. The tag is a png file to make digital layering easy.
Here is the assembled topper, with the tag fixed with foam pads, and the background layered on gold mirror card.

Do you like to add a touch of grunge to a paper or card background? If so, I have some new stamps that will help. This is a set of five distressing stamps to add a vintage, shabby look to coloured card or papers. Even to create backgrounds on plain paper, or for filling in sky or ground. The effects can vary a lot, depending on the colour ink you use, and how you build up the pattern. Here are the stamps, with some examples:

I have been playing with a photo of one of my garden poppies and, after a lot of mucking around, managed to make a paper with it. And then this digi photo frame, which you can download free this month. It is a png file, with a transparent aperture. Hi Everyone!
Hope you had a nice Easter break, with loads of chocolate!
Here are some that I bought. Unfortunately they were gone before Easter because they were too irresistible to keep!
These are handmade by Julie of Blue Mahoe Chocolates. There is a very yummy selection, and I've tried all of them! They are Belgian chocolate truffles made with fresh ingredients, including cream and butter. New truffles coming up in time for Father's Day are coffee and coffee rum truffles made with freshly ground Mountain Jamaican coffee, and Jamaican rum. Can't wait to try those! Julie caters for weddings, parties and corporate gifts, or just to send someone a special gift. Postage is £2 for up to 12 truffles, and £4 for more. This Christmas Night paper has a snowy background with a street lamp, I'd love to see it with a Tilda on!
But for something quicker, this mulberry robin is great.

One of these Chinese papers has the Good Luck symbol on, the Chinese lucky coins go well with toppers made from these.

New label stamps for Christmas card making

Hi All!
I know there is a lot of Christmas cardmaking going on at the moment, so this is a good time to show you some new Christmas stamps in at Stampingallday. They are label frame stamps made up of straight lines, so they are very easy to cut out by hand, and even layer as well. The ones here are 'The Joy of Christmas', 'Sparkly Christmas Time' and 'Believe in the Magic'. The label frame stamps are available separately and there are plenty of sentiments stamps that will fit into the centres, if you prefer to make up your own. These have all been embossed with silver and would also look great with some little crystals added. The papers used here are from my layering Shabby paper packs, Christmas Blues.

I was looking for something really cute to go with this Little Poppet circle stamp and I found this lovely little angel girl with her kitten. It's a digi stamp from Mo's and I love it!

I thought a soft pink would be good for the background and after embossing the stamp in silver, I cut a scallop in matching card and layered it with foam pads; it gives a nice coordinated look to the topper. The pink striped background paper is from my download site.

Just letting you know about a new section of Personalised Stamps at the shop where you can personalise a stamp for yourself (or someone else, they make great gifts) by having your name or company in the centre.

Someone will win two of these custom stamps at the end of September, please leave a comment on this post if you would like to be entered!

These stamps are useful for crafters who like to stamp onto the back of their cards, or could be used to make labels for handmade or OOAK items.

The text available at the moment around the outside of the custom circle stamps is 'Handmade By', 'Limited Edition' and 'One of a Kind'. There is also a custom favour tag stamp that you can choose the text for. Great for those of you making Wedding favours as you can have the names of the bride and groom and the date on it.

The orders for the custom stamps are being processed monthly, so please allow up to four weeks for delivery and get your orders in early for Christmas gifts!

These Circle Stamps are all also available separately with the blank centres and there are a few 'Little Words' stamps that will fit into them.

I've made these pink and black digi card topper kits to show them off and you can choose one kit free with every order at Stampingallday. Digital stamps, cropping and resizing

Hi Everyone! This is a post for those of you who have bought digi stamps or toppers as a jpg sheet and would like to know how to crop out individual images rather than printing the whole thing each time.

If you use a dtp program you'll probably know how to use the crop tool, but for those who don't, it can be done in Word and I've written some instructions.

Cute new bird and owl digis

Hi Everyone. At last there's been a bit of time to play with some of the digis that I keep buying and not having time to use! These lovely birds and owls are from Digistamp Boutique. I think they're great for making Valentine, engagement or anniversary cards.

I've used a couple of my new stamps with them - 'With love' and 'To the lovebirds' which have been embossed with silver.

We want the Spring!

Hi Everyone, and - to all who had a heat gun for Christmas - welcome to stamping addiction! As ever, please feel free to email me if you have any questions about stamping and embossing. There's also a hints and tips sheet at my shop.

Well, I love snowy photos and cards and have been experimenting with some fab photos that a talented friend took. Here's one of them. I feathered the edge of the photo and blended it into a background paper, put a frame round it and stamped Walking in a Winter Wonderland. Shame Christmas has gone, I would have made some cards with it.

Snowy photos are one thing, but having thick slush outside is another. Today I am fed up with it and have made some Spring toppers to try and forget about it! Easter is coming, and is a good excuse to do some floral cards. This uses the Easter Blessings stamp

Stamping and backing Remembrance verses

Hi everyone. And thank you for all the lovely comments and entries for my blog candy - keep them coming, everyone welcome!

Many of us have lost someone and think about them especially at Christmas. A remembrance verse on a personal photo is a nice way to remember someone, and this is one way of doing it.

Take your photo and crop it to the size you'd like for the background (This one is 9cm x 13cm) Copy and paste the cropped photo and keep one for later, this will be your background layer.

Draw a lined transparent shape to fit the verse you will be stamping (This is 6cm x 10cm) Centre it onto one of the photo backgrounds and crop (not shrink) the photo to the size of this smaller shape. Delete the line shape when you're done. Add a transparent layer over the top, or fade the photo enough that the stamped verse will show up well. Add a border.

Add a border to your remaining background layer and print both pieces. Stamp your verse onto the small piece of photo. Here I've mounted it onto silver card before layering it onto the large photo.

The stamp I've used here is 'Those we love don't go away' but this technique could be used for many occasions and any picture where a continuous background is desired.

Hi Everyone! Hope you're not all blown away this weekend in the gales!

Just posting some examples I've just stamped of a Happy Christmas circle stamp combined with some of the others in the Little Words range

This combination should cover just about anyone's Christmas cards! These also look great if you use a different colour embossing powder for the words in the centre of the circle stamp.

Hi there! Just to say I have some new Christmas embellishments in the shop. Here I've used the wire and bead Snowflake on the new Christmas backing paper which is available to download. This isn't a free download but there is a free Christmas text paper which is in transparent png format for you to lay over any colour to create your own background papers.

Stamp a frame

Hi Everyone! I've just been stamping out some frames for Thank You card toppers. It's a good way of using your stamps to give a different effect and, if you emboss them, they look really pretty. I've used silver because it's my favourite to emboss with. First I printed out some plain frames in colours that would match the Copics I was going to use for the flowers. The stamp I've used is about 5cm wide so I made the frames 8cm square. Then just stamped and embossed the stamp around the inside lines of the frame.

Then I printed the centre panels at 4.5cm square and coloured them, layered it all up and added glitter and ribbon

How to make a Christmas Holly Bauble

Hi Everyone, hope you're all feeling great!
I've got some cute little stamps in today that are great for making Christmas bauble embellishments. There's a Little Holly Swirl stamp and a Little Merry Christmas. This is how to make your own stamped baubles. Cut out your round shape for the bauble, I've used a Quickutz bauble die. Stamp the words first if you're using them, then add the holly. Stamp off the edge of the shape to give a random effect. Colour and glitter it and stick the hanger on. Simples! Or - stamp first, then use a window cutter to cut out your preferred area.

The holly swirl also fits into the new Happy Christmas circle stamp, and there is also this one that already has the holly in.

'Thank You' circle stamp

A tip for stamping circle stamps

I don't often have a perfect aim when I'm stamping circle stamps onto circles and I've mucked up quite a few. Then I remembered my 'window' cut dies. The 1 1/2" diameter one is the perfect size for this Anniversary circle stamp. (and the birthday one in the post below). So I've made loads of them today. Just stamp and emboss them first, then use the cutter to get them perfectly centred before cutting them out. There's quite a selection of little number stamps coming along so we should be able to make cards for almost anyone's anniversary now.

Another Fairy card topper!

While I'm waiting for
the new stamps to arrive
I've found this fab new
fairy from Daisy May.

The sentiment stamp that
I've used with it is text
in a frame, designed to
be cut out and layered,
but this time I
have stamped it directly onto the image with clear ink.

Then, before embossing it, I carefully removed the silver embossing powder (with a pin) where her hand and dress overlap the stamp.

Just Purrfect!

It's a long time since I saw this cat stamp of mine but I found this stamped image today that I had embossed in silver. I've shaded it with Copics and added a few Swarovski crystals to her collar.

I will look for this stamp later, I'd like to make some more of these!

Found a lovely Digi-stamp site

Must tell you about a site I found that has the

cutest digital stamps.

The site is Softpencil.Etsy.com and owned by designer and illustrator, Elizabeth. You'll need to register at Etsy to buy them, but it's straightforward to do. The pics will be emailed to you very quickly after you have paid.

I was especially delighted to find this sweet girl on a cupcake, it's just right for several of my cupcake text stamps.

There are several cute girls, boys and animals, with more on the way, so I'll be checking back there often!

New circle stamps

It was my friend Susie of Diecutdreams who asked for stamps with text in a circle to go with her new scallop layering sets.

This is what I did with one of them. The sweet girl is a Sugar Nellie stamp, Purrfect Friend, from the Gorjuss Girls range.

I coloured her with Copics and mounted her onto silver and gingham card. The text stamps are 'Thank you for being a Friend' and 'To a Purrfect Friend'.

At the moment there is a 10% discount off every shop order. This will be ending on 19th July when the shop will close for a break.
